Providing Landscape Architectural and site planning services to the Recreational Vehicle park and campground industry has been our national specialty since 1967.  Don has also been a camper for many years.  His varied experiences all across the country have given him a consumer’s perspective of what makes an exceptional RV park.

Our services include assistance in site selection, rezoning, conceptual design, construction planning, permitting, landscape plans, and image design. If you are in need of updated marketing materials, our creative staff has designed many attractive, easy-to-read camp site maps and graphics for website or camp office use.

Longview RV Resort
Longview
In an attempt capitalize on Gillette Wyoming’s rapidly expanding natural resources economy, Longview RV Resort was designed to serve traveling RVers and to provide desperately needed temporary workforce housing.

Because of the unique target demographic of the project, a large recreation facility was required to provide a range of long term services for the work force and their families. Included amenities ranged from extensive shower facilities and laundry room to playground equipment; from a media room and kitchen to a meeting room and office.

The first phase will consist of 130 spaces with room for expansion to 230 or more depending on market demands.
Vineyard RV Resort
vineyard
Located north of the San Francisco Bay Area, Vineyard RV Resort was an opportunity to completely redesign an established recreational vehicle park.  Donald C. Westphal Associates worked with the developer, George Bertram III, and his team to create an outstanding RV resort designed with the accessibility of today’s larger “Big Rig” vehicles in mind.  The developer also sought to use environmentally sound design through solar technology and other practices to reduce the use of water and energy on the site.

Donald C. Westphal Associates worked with the developer to create a complete package of site design, landscape design, and imaging to help them “strive to meet or exceed each of their guest’s expectations.”

James River Camping Resort
James River

Located in rural Virginia, James River Camping Resort was envisioned as an all-inclusive destination resort targeting a competitive high end market. It was designed to provide a locally available experience similar to what is found on a cruise liner but at a fraction of the cost.

To achieve this, a wide array of recreational opportunities were provided. From affordable amenities such as hiking trails, duck ponds and paddle boat rentals to more intensive features such as a water park, a restaurant, power boat rentals, and 9 hole golf course… James River Camping Resort meets a range of expectations. In addition to modern RV sites and rustic tent sites, model cabins were included to provide a diversity of options and price points.
